BenG Popster for Sale 41,316
Is NFT like a certificate to prove ownership of a digital good? Or am I oversimplifying it?

Or am I oversimplifying it? I read someone compare it to art—some wealthy art investor could spend millions and buy the Mona Lisa but anyone can go see it in a museum or look up pictures of it or something. So technically there’s an “owner” but they don’t really get anything

Or am I oversimplifying it? this is my understanding which makes way more sense to me when you have a physical copy of an artwork... but like who cares if you have a digital reproduction that is an exact copy with no loss? I saw someone arguing with one of the Winklevoss brothers about it on Twitter and they were like "I see now how someone stole a multi-billion dollar company right from under your nose" plus doesn't blockchain have a huge carbon footprint?
