Honestly, the problem with this site is that the charts thread is the only truly active thread, and people discuss everything there, not just the charts, so most of them see no need to ever leave that thread. 

Did you promote your contest on the charts thread Dear Emperor? If so, you may have better luck, though don't expect those people to leave the charts thread for the ceremony.
