Netflix will stop green-lighting “expensive vanity projects”

Netflix should fire whoever gave that quote because it does a real diservice to the ~new approach~ which is actually, it seems, "Netflix will release blockbusters like the big boys" (still lmaoooo ok sure, easier said than done).

Frankly, I don't think studios can resist oscar bait since studios derive so much meaning from award season... it's like saying a football team doesn't care about the Super Bowl. Sure. Netflix simply wants to release Don't Look Up esque oscar bait. Fine, whatever.
