They probably had a normal relationship between peers, the purpose of transforming Just Dance from a solo song to a collaboration was to try to launch the careers of two artists. Then he was no longer successful and remained a one hit wonder and probably Gaga eliminated his parts on tour just because the fans don't like them but she has nothing against him
