Catchy Vs Repetitive?

What makes a song catchy vs repetitive?

I know repetitive helps but sometimes too repetitive can be bad. So where is the middle ground?

I know PokerFace and Alejandro are catchy for example but also endlessly repetitive.

but then there’s also songs like 

which are repetitive af, sure it evolves through the song but if I had someone describe this to me as catchy I’d be like nah that’s too repetitive. Is catchy vs repetitive like this uncanny valley?

For me the catchiness of the lyrics make up for the repetition. The first time I heard it, I was begging for more by the end! But now I think the conciseness is in its favor.

I came here to say this. Alice is very repetitive and it’s probably because of the way the song is structured.

repetative in my opinion is when all the choruses are the exact same catchy is when it has a good melody and its easy to sing along to. catchy is simple but good
