TeenIdle The Popster 42
Welcome to the thread decdicated to Welsh artist MARINA (previously known as Marina and the Diamonds). Let's discuss our favorite eras, albums, songs, maybe plan some megarates etc. The Family Jewels is the debut studio album, released on 15 February 2010. Diamandis collaborated with several producers including Pascal Gabriel, Liam Howe, Greg Kurstin, Richard "Biff" Stannard, and Starsmith during its recording. She identifies the lyrical themes as "the seduction of commercialism, modern social values, family and female sexuality." SINGLES: Obsessions, Mowgli's Road, Hollywood, I Am Not a Robot, Oh No!, Shampain UK peak: #5 US: #138 Electra Heart is the second studio album, released on 27 April 2012. Diamandis collaborated with producers including Liam Howe, Greg Kurstin, Dr. Luke, Diplo and Stargate during its recording, and subsequently transitioned from the new wave musical styles seen throughout her debut studio album, The Family Jewels. Their efforts resulted in a concept album consisting of electropop and dance-pop music, a distinct departure from her earlier projects. Lyrically, the album discusses topics of love and identity. Diamandis created the title character "Electra Heart" to represent female archetypes in popular American culture (House Wife, Beauty Queen, Homewrecker and Idle Teen). SINGLES: Primadonna, Power & Control, How to Be A Heartbreaker UK peak: #1 US: #31 Froot is the third studio album by Welsh singer Marina Diamandis and her last under the stage name Marina and the Diamonds. It was originally scheduled to be released on 3 April 2015, although it was ultimately released on 13 March 2015 due to unauthorised Internet leaks. Written entirely by Diamandis, she collaborated with David Kosten for production. Diamandis had confirmed that six songs will be released before the album's release, one each month up until 6 April 2015, calling this strategy the "Froot of the Month". SINGLES: Froot, Happy, Forget, I'm a Ruin, Blue UK peak: #10 US: #8 Love + Fear is the fourth studio album and her first under the mononym Marina. It was released in full on 26 April 2019. After the release of FROOT, Diamandis took a break from touring to rest and find new creative inspiration. Upon album announcement, it was revealed that the album was to be a double album and is split into two eight-track collections ("Love" and "Fear"), with each collection exploring psychologist Elisabeth Kübler-Ross' theory that humans are only capable of experiencing the nominal two emotions. SINGLES: Handmade Heaven, Superstar, Orange Trees, To Be Human, Karma UK peak: #5 US: #28 @Davian @Ryusei @DiamondKing @Nuggets @Lastrassi @Varys @Mirages @ProjectJoanne 6
