It was released on June 17, 2008, by Capitol Records. During its production, Perry was dropped from two record labels and went through two canceled albums. One Of The Boys is Perry's first on a major label and first under the stage name Katy Perry, following her debut Katy Hudson, which was released under her real name on Red Hill Records. Commercially, it debuted at number nine on the US Billboard, selling over 47,000 copies in its first week of sales, and also peaked within the top-ten charts in Austria, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, Norway, and Switzerland. One of the Boys earned Perry two Grammy Award nominations, and has sold 7 million copies worldwide, being her 3rd highest-selling album to date. It has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America Teenage Dream is the second studio album by American singer Katy Perry. Musically, the record contains songs in the genres of pop and rock with influences of disco, electronic, funk, house, gothic rock, hip hop and Hi-NRG laced throughout the album. Witness is the fourth studio album by American singer Katy Perry. It was released on June 9, 2017, by Capitol Records. For the album, Perry worked with numerous producers. Witness is an electropop album that incorporates dance and EDM elements, with lyrics on Self Empowerment and feminism. Perry described it as an album of "liberation" and "purposeful pop". Moving 180,000 album equivalent units in its first-week, Witness debuted atop the US Billboard 200 chart, becoming Perry's third chart-topping album in the country. The album also topped the charts in Canada and Spain, while reaching number two in Australia, South Korea, Mexico, and New Zealand and the top five region in nine other territories. Smile is the fifth studio album by American singer Katy Perry. It was released on August 28, 2020, by Capitol Records, three years after its predecessor Witness (2017). Perry has described Smile as her "journey towards the light, with stories of resilience, hope, and love". Musically a pop album, Smile is characterized by its themes of self help and empowerment. On the Billboard 200 chart, Smile debuted at number 5, earning 50,000 units in its first week, marking Perry's fifth top-10 album in the United States. The album reached the top-five in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, the United Kingdom, top-ten in Austria, Ireland, and Italy, and the top-20 in Finland, France, Germany, and the Netherlands. I've listened through smile twice and it isn't too bad, some good bops on there. She really served on that one Performance a while ago, I think it was daises? The one that was all CGI and virtual.
