Hi there! :happydance:

This thread will be dedicated to the queen of smiles: Katy Perry!

This is a safe space for fans who want to discuss her music, tours, looks etc. :tea:

One of the Boys is the first studio album by American singer Katy Perry. It was released on June 17, 2008, by Capitol Records. During its production, Perry was dropped from two record labels and went through two canceled albums.

One Of The Boys is Perry's first on a major label and first under the stage name Katy Perry, following her debut Katy Hudson, which was released under her real name on Red Hill Records. Commercially, it debuted at number nine on the US Billboard, selling over 47,000 copies in its first week of sales, and also peaked within the top-ten charts in Austria, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, Norway, and Switzerland. One of the Boys earned Perry two Grammy Award nominations, and has sold 7 million copies worldwide, being her 3rd highest-selling album to date. It has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America

Teenage Dream is the second studio album by American singer Katy Perry. It was released on August 24, 2010, through Capitol Records. Musically, the record contains songs in the genres of pop and rock with influences of disco, electronic, funk, house, gothic rock, hip hop and Hi-NRG laced throughout the album. Lyrically, it revolves around young love, partying, self-empowerment, and personal growth.

The album debuted at number one on the US , selling 192,000 copies in its first week. It was later certified eight times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), has gone onto sell 3.1 million copies in the United States, and charted within the Top 40 of the Billboard 200 year-end chart three years in a row. The album also sold 1.3 million copies in the United Kingdom, where it was certified four times platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). By July 2013, Teenage Dream had sold 6 million copies worldwide.

Prism is the third studio album by American singer Katy Perry. It was released by Capitol Records on October 18, 2013. While the album was initially planned to be "darker" than her previous material, Prism ultimately became a prominently dance-inspired record. The singer worked with several past collaborators, while enlisting new producers and guest vocals. Much of Prism revolves around the themes of living in the present, relationships, and self-empowerment. The album garnered generally positive reviews with critics praising its lyrical content for being more "mature" and personal.

The album debuted atop the US Billboard 200 with 286,000 copies sold, becoming Perry's best opening week to date. The album also peaked at number one in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. Prism became Perry's fastest-selling album, the second best-selling album in Australia in 2013, and the second best-selling album released by a woman in the United States in 2013. The International Federation of the Phonography Industry (IFPI) reported that Prism was the sixth best-selling album in the world in 2013, the best-selling album in the world in 2013 released by a woman, and labeled Perry "a global phenomenon." It has sold over 4 million copies worldwide. The album's success continued throughout 2014, ranking within the top 10 of the annual charts for 2014 in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Witness is the fourth studio album by American singer Katy Perry. It was released on June 9, 2017, by Capitol Records. For the album, Perry worked with numerous producers. Witness is an electropop album that incorporates dance and EDM elements, with lyrics on Self Empowerment and feminism. Perry described it as an album of "liberation" and "purposeful pop".

Moving 180,000 album equivalent units in its first-week, Witness debuted atop the US Billboard 200 chart, becoming Perry's third chart-topping album in the country. The album also topped the charts in Canada and Spain, while reaching number two in Australia, South Korea, Mexico, and New Zealand and the top five region in nine other territories.

Smile is the fifth studio album by American singer Katy Perry. It was released on August 28, 2020, by Capitol Records, three years after its predecessor Witness (2017).

Perry has described Smile as her "journey towards the light, with stories of resilience, hope, and love". Musically a pop album, Smile is characterized by its themes of self help and empowerment.

On the Billboard 200 chart, Smile debuted at number 5, earning 50,000 units in its first week, marking Perry's fifth top-10 album in the United States. The album reached the top-five in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Portugal, Scotland, Spain, the United Kingdom, top-ten in Austria, Ireland, and Italy, and the top-20 in Finland, France, Germany, and the Netherlands.

I wouldn't call myself a fan, however there is a handful of her songs that I like. I've listened through smile twice and it isn't too bad, some good bops on there. She really served on that one Performance a while ago, I think it was daises? The one that was all CGI and virtual. Hope all her fans are living for the new album 🙏 Circle the drain would be my favourite song by Katy.
