They definitely were one of the original boy bands, and their early music wasn't groundbreaking, but some of their later stuff, especially written under the influence of hallucinogenic drugs, is pretty fantastic. "A Day in the Life" is such a weird, haunting masterpiece, and "Strawberry Fields Forever" is so brooding and surreal.

Thank you! Some of The Beatles songs are fantastic and something that other artists or bands can never achieve. I’ve always been a fan of psychedelic music and Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band is a masterpiece.

Some people here are making it sound like The Beatles were just a basic random band who got lucky, but they changed the music industry a lot.

ARTPOP is #9 on pure sales according to Alpha Data with Thursday data missing

Demi, evermore and folklore are below it and are doing 5-6k this week. But this isn't final so who knows what's counted, other positions aren't accurate. For example ariana is much lower than she should be.

They actually had more longevity than the Beatles, even a #1 hit in the US in the 80s
