As we gear up for mod applications, I had revised our Guidelines document to be very specific about what type of behavior is and is not allowed and how points will be given out / the consequences.

Please take a look. There were some issues earlier today, and in the past, before I published these so I am going to give a pass to those people for now. But I'll be enforcing this going forward, as will any new mods.

Thanks,

Stay kind and happy.

Please do not drag artists. We can discuss all celebrities without tearing them down. It’s ok to objectively discuss performance, sales and opinions of songs and artists. But repeatedly bringing up specific artists to put them down or openly attacking them is unacceptable. Entering threads dedicated to specific artists to drag them is also unacceptable. Choose not to post.

I have a question about the sexual content. To be clear, I have never posted sexual content on any of these sites, but sometimes Gaga photos/videos can be rather sexual in nature, such as when she performs at Brian Newman's shows or even in her own concerts or some of her photoshoots. Is sharing photos and videos of this type that come from Gaga herself  allowed?

Thank you!

A really great question. We should refrain from posting explicit nudity that Gaga posts, but otherwise that is all fine. We know Gaga loves showing her butt.

If you change your username to that, no, but if you are dragging the artist too far and pretends to be them, then yes

the blessed madonna from gagadaily :bradley:

ot: these guidelines are very mature and fair, i think. they give space to people for learning through mistakes, while also punishing unacceptable behavior :oscar:

@admin The guidelines look great. I just have one observation to share.

Quote

Copyrighted material/Leaks
Please do not repost articles. You may post a link with a brief summary. We do not allow posting or sharing of leaks, hacks or personal information. We are held accountable for this type of behavior and the site could be severely penalized.
Points: 2 points.
Length: 180 days.

I'm a little skeptical of including sharing full articles with sharing leaks. I think both should be part of the guidelines, but maybe not with the same repercussions? One of the most forgotten rules on the other forum was to not include a full article in a post, so I can see this racking up WPs for some members pretty fast. Especially if the points for posting a full article don't go away for 180 days. Thoughts?

"Don't repost full articles" is one of the most important forum guidelines because copyright infringement of any type could get the site admin in actual hot water. News outlets are very sensitive about full articles being posted on forums and they're well within their rights to issue take-down notices  :gaga-scream:

@blue- you nailed it on the head, but I also think that’s a fair point you make @Timmers. This does vary compared to some other forums in that warning points last a lot longer because I think more serious offenses should have a more serious consequence without quickly getting someone banned.

I think I can separate those and lower the consequence a bit. I’ll make that change in the coming week. If it’s an issue, I’ll change it again later.

Thank you both!

Love the transparency. I think guidelines are always an evolving document and always more effective when the community as a whole agrees to them. I think it would be really useful to outline a process by which the guidelines can be updated by @admin and any mods with the input of the forum, like via polls, discussion threads, and/or a support suggestion box? Just a thought on how to include the community at large in the decision-making process.

Yes, it will surely be an evolving document. And anyone can reach out here in this thread, start a new thread in pop a 911 -> suggestion or reach out via PM if they prefer. I think polls and more interactive suggestions might make sense in the future, but I think we need this base and we can see how things go as the site grows and starts to utilize.
