One of Lady GaGas most pumping song. A fan favorite and a critic darling.

According to Wakikipedia,

Quote

Callie Ahlgrim of Insider praised the song for presenting "classic Lady Gaga in all her blood-pumping, bass-thumping glory", and further added that although Alice's Adventures in Wonderland "has become an oft-used reference in pop music", she appreciated "the way it complements the themes of the album; it makes sense to imagine Gaga as a wide-eyed, curious Alice type and 'Chromatica' as a surrealist third space in between earth and escapism."[17] Billboard's Stephen Daw ranked "Alice" as Chromatica's sixth best track and wrote, "Remember how deliriously entertaining early 2000s post-rave dance music was? Lady Gaga certainly does as she exhibits on ['Alice']... Gaga throws listeners down a sonic rabbit hole of kick drums and shimmering synths..."[18] The magazine's Jason Lipshutz described the song as a "post-rave triumph".[19] Lindsay Zoladz of The New York Times said she "can imagine putting the song on repeat during this cruel summer, while the newspaper's Caryn Ganz said "Alice" has "glittery hopefulness".[20] Quinn Moreland of Pitchfork considered the lyrics "Maestro, play me your symphony/I will listen to anything/Take me on a trip, DJ, free my mind" one of Chromatica's "wild lyrical clunkers".[21] USA Today's Patrick Ryan described the song as "hypnotic".[22]

Quote

Spencer Kornhaber from The Atlantic listed "Alice" as one of the standout moments of Chromatica with its "gasping chorus."

It will make you dance down to the rabbit hole into the world of "Chromatica"

Its none other than "Alice:zoom:

I love the songwriting on this song but it feels incomplete to me cuz everything else is repetitive. I still love it tho, it's just not my favorite.

I just realized it doesnt really have a second verse :cupcake:

I agree. I think it  needed a second verse because though it’s short, hearing the chorus and post chorus, and because of how simple they are, it seems very repetitive! Love the song tho and I can’t wait until the day I can hear it blasting in the clubs.

It has a second verse, but it's like Aura :ally: It acts as the bridge, I assume. I did write an "official second verse" to make it sound complete though

My name isn't Alice

But I'll keep looking, I'll keep looking for Wonderland

My name isn't Alice

But I'll keep looking, I'll keep looking for Wonderland, Wonderland

Ah-ah-ah, oh, ah-ah-ah, oh

Set me free (Ah ah ah)

Ah-ah-ah, oh, ah-ah-ah, oh

Set me free (Ah ah ah)

Could you pull me out of this alive?

(Ah-ah-ah, oh, ah-ah-ah)

Where's my body, I'm stuck in my mind

(Ah-ah-ah, oh, ah-ah-ah)

(Ooh, ma-ma, ma, ooh, ma-ma, ma)

I'm tired of screaming

(Ooh, ma-ma, ma, ooh, ma-ma, ma)

At the top of my lungs

(Ooh, ma-mother, ooh, ma-mother)

I'm in the hole, I'm falling down, down, so down, down

My name isn't Alice

But I'll keep looking, I'll keep looking for Wonderland

My name isn't Alice

But I'll keep looking, I'll keep looking for Wonderland, Wonderland

Ah-ah-ah, oh, ah-ah-ah, oh

Set me free (Ah ah ah)

Ah-ah-ah, oh, ah-ah-ah, oh

Set me free (Ah ah ah)

Will I ever survive this dark time?

(Ah-ah-ah, oh, ah-ah-ah)

Need something to get me through the night

(Ah-ah-ah, oh, ah-ah-ah)

(Ooh, ma-ma, ma, ooh, ma-ma, ma)

Nobody listens

(Ooh, ma-ma, ma, ooh, ma-ma, ma)

But I call out their name

(Ooh, ma-mother, ooh, ma-mother)

I'm getting smaller, I need some way to escape

My name isn't Alice

But I'll keep looking, I'll keep looking for Wonderland

My name isn't Alice

But I'll keep looking, I'll keep looking for Wonderland, Wonderland

Sick, and tired of waking up

Screaming at the top of my lungs

Think I might have just left myself behind

Maestro, play me your symphony

I will listen to anything

Take me on a trip, DJ, free my mind

My name isn't Alice

But I'll keep looking, I'll keep looking for Wonderland

My name isn't Alice

But I'll keep looking, I'll keep looking for Wonderland, Wonderland

Take me home

Take me to Wonderland, Wonderland

Take me home

Take me to Wonderland, Wonderland

Take me home

Take me to Wonderland, Wonderland

Take me home

Take me to Wonderland, Wonderland

Ah-ah-ah, oh, ah-ah-ah, oh
