Miaou Pop-a-911-ster 23,240
The first time I heard about Lady Gaga was when Bad Romance was played on Fun Radio (a french radio) in February 2010 and I was so shook with the "rah rah ah ah" parts I didn't hear Poker Face or Paparazzi before yeah it's super weird
Doncho Popstanne 8,315
Around mid 2010. I dont know exactly when tbh, but I remember a commercial on TV that had various songs, including I think it was Godly Face or God Romance. The rest was history. I also remember I spent a weekend watching lot of interviews and performances and fell in love with Gaga so fast 10 years of being a fan, and I know I ll be here until the end
derpmonster Pronounshe/they ARTPOPster 1,220
Well I knew of Poker Face from TV but wasn't into it (back then). I wasn't into electronic music at all when I was younger. I truly discovered her through Til It Happens To You and fell in love. Then I gave her older material a chance and fell in love with it. For me, it was TIHTY -> Born This Way -> Joanne (right when it was released) -> TF/TFM -> ARTPOP. So I've experienced everything since Joanne in real time. Then I saw the JWT live in 2017 and it was ETHEREAL. TIHTY made me a fan. Born This Way made her my one and only. Everything else only solidified my love for her. 3

admin Pronounshe/him Kindness Admin 6,854
I remember hearing Just Dance and instantly disliking it. I thought it was just a sorta bland girl that couldn’t sing doing soulless pop. I knew there was hype around her and she refused to show her face / had a penis and I just couldn’t be bothered. Then I saw her perform Just Dance on the View and I was surprised she showed her face and that she was singing live. From there I started getting into her more at the club, especially Poker Face. Then came her VMA performance, which to me, was life changing. We essentially bought tickets to her first Monster Ball show in Montreal that next week and built a whole trip to the city around it. I remember the album came out just before the trip and nothing has ever been the same.

Andreu Pop-a-911-ster 24,339
In late 2009/early 2010 there was an article on our local newspapers of "A music video that was as impactful as MJs Thriller" (obviouslt the music video in question was Bad Romance). I watched it with my parents online and my 9 year old self was SHOOK. And her music has been a part of my life ever since, crazy to think I have been a Gaga fan for more than half of my life

Thrasher Popstanne 6,271
I heard Poker Face on the radio/tv in late 2008, and then a friend of mine made me listen and watch Just Dance on YouTube and I got obsessed with both songs. I was just a casual listener back then but I was obsessed with every TF/TFM single (especially Bad Romance and Alejandro, which were so big here during winter/summer 2010, all of my friends liked Gaga and used to sing along her songs, such memories that make me feel old now ugh). I didn't turn into an active stan until I met a friend of mine at the high school who was a LM, and she turned me into one as well with her talking about Gaga, lol. That was towards the end of the BTW era though.

I used to go Spain or France on holiday all the time when I was young, and we'd drive from UK - we would love the French stations and the French music, it was very pop and they play swear words - Like lily Allen 'fuck you' which was shocking to us haha my dad put fun radio on and they were playing Just Dance a lot and I was like wow this is amazing song, so I got home and was watching Gaga interviews and performing I thought wow she's better than Britney - but I was gutted because I thought she was from Europe and she wasn't going to take off so UK wools never get her, as she only got airplay and became a thing in November... Then I discovered poker face and was slayed again. The rest = history! But Gaga's best promo, performances, and outfits earlier in her career were hands down France and Japan. She inspired me to try learning French!

TIHTY was not a commercial success anywhere in the US or outside but this just shows us that the big picture can be bigger than charts. I know we're all chartsters but the truth is impact can't be measured by charts alone When I was young, I prayed for lightning never thought *I* would be one to stan someone like Lady Gaga (I used to be judgmental and sexually repressed + hadn't let my inner "weird" out) and here I am. She's now much more than an artist for me. She freed me, helped me come out, discover myself, and grow so much (not to mention her music and message saved my life) and it all started with Til It Happens To You. Fame Romance Pop-a-911-ster 49,976
For me it was in 2010, I heard Bad Romance (Starsmith Remix) somewhere on the street. I was still too young back then to start stanning her lmao I became a stan in 2013 when she dropped the Aura lyric video, I stumbled upon it on YouTube and started discovering her whole discography. ARTPOP ARTPOPster 1,604
I was 9 years old, in 2009, standing in the middle of my living room watching a french music video countdown called Kids 20 on Teletoon and Eh Eh was in the charts (makes sense, Eh Eh was huge there, but still funny to me that's the first i've heard/seen her). I was so amused by her name and I remember thinking "how did her mom let her wear high heels in bed???" Then a few months later bad romance came on in that same show and I was... shocked. I downloaded the video on limewire and kept playing it whenever no one was looking. It was literally art porn to my child self. After that I fell off the radar with Gaga, never really heard anything else from her... Until early 2013, that one time, I had just discovered that you can download music on your phone for free so my first thought was "hm there's this song that goes ale alejandro i wanna see if i can find it" and i did and it was by gaga and i downloaded a few other songs that came up in the search results. I'm not 100% sure what they were but i distinctly remember lovegame being one of them. I listened to that bunch of songs and i could literally feel my gay genes starting to sparkle. I downloaded the rest of her discography and it was love ever since
