With the film coming out in November, it makes sense they're going for maximum spectacle. Plus, so far, we've only seen them happy and in love so we're all like  and now they get to pull the rug out from under us.

(the interview is old, from near the beginning of the pandemic I think)

I don't think it's clear if they mean Gaga will literally be doing a voiceover, or just that she will be the main POV character, which the book didn't have. I'm inclined to think it won't have literal narration because that does seem like weird choice for this story (since Patrizia has never admitted guilt), but who knows, could be interesting!
