And the (predictable) winner -

1 - Hollaback Girl

Average rate: 9.68
Highest rate: 11 @DonnieDarko
Lowest rate: 9 @PETTY @Blown Away @Franch Toast @GitHub

Comments:

@Elvira - Iconic. Period.

@PETTY - Wow. When that production kicks in at 0:30, I mean please! Name a more iconic single in 2005. I'll wait

@Blown Away - The bridge describes my feelings about this song perfectly. THIS S*IT IS BANANAS, B-A-N-A-N-A-S! The overplay killed it a bit for me though.

@Franch Toast - I find this song grating and obnoxious, but it’s also super catchy, and Gwen seems to have a blast performing it—I watched a video of her performing it for country fans with Blake’s backup sings in Oklahoma, and honestly, it gave me life. I do appreciate how it’s a clever diss at Courtney Love for calling her a cheerleader. It also really is a great dance bop. (The censored version can stuff it though; that’s truly annoying.)

@kaelergrey - Gwen Stefani and The Jupiters did amazing on this track. It just doesnt win a Grammy Award but it also won the hearts of critics and people worldwide. Till this day, It still sounds amazing as it sounded years ago.

@GitHub - HELLO YES

@DonnieDarko - A cult classic!

@NYNJ Nights - there is a reason this song is still charting on iTunes

If you must listen to Hollaback Girl, I recommend this cheesy a** version she sang in Oklahoma with Blake's back-up singers, and a bunch of country fans bopping to it. It makes me laugh so much (because it's so awful and cringeworthy, to be clear :icant:) But for real, Cool was robbed.

Thank you @blankpaper for doing such an amazing job on organizing a fabulous megarate for this amazing album!

flirty flirting GIF by Gwen Stefani

Hope you do another Gwen megarate (but please not the Christmas one or any of that country sh*t)  or No Doubt (Tragic Kingdom? Return of Saturn?) megarate soon.

Someone needs to stage an intervention. She can save that crap for the retirement home.
