Honestly I completely agree....I used to feel that way too..if I learned anything over the last 4 years it was that there was still 70M+ people in the US who are willing to swipe racism, homophobia, transphobia, misogyny, and many other things under the rug....it’s so sad  I really do like to think we’re making progress but it’s hard sometimes...

Details have begun to leak regarding the first of 2 Infrastructure related proposals. The two packages are expected to land somewhere between 3-4T. Biden will be giving concrete/final details tomorrow in Pittsburgh regarding this first part and how he intends to pay for it, tax RAISES on the wealthy and corporations are expected....please see grid above for leaked details

Republicans always pull the "trickle-down" card which sounds great in theory, but it is a myth, and just like this 2017 tax cut, inequality also worsened during the Reagan and Bush era tax cuts. Many still falsely credit the Reagan tax cuts as the sole reason for ending the 1980 recession, but it was just one strategy, Reagan also increased government spending among other things. Fiscal stimulus is the more appropriate way to fight recession and unemployment

President Biden formally announced the “American Jobs Plan” alongside the “Made in America” Tax Plan

Overall it’s a 2.25T dollar package, the Jobs plan would be spent over a course of 8 years and the Tax plan would completely pay for it over a course of 15 years via the following:

1) Set the Corporate Tax Rate at 28 percent.

2) Discourage Offshoring by Strengthening the Global Minimum Tax for U.S. Multinational Corporations

3) Prevent U.S. Corporations from inverting or claiming tax havens as their residence

4) Deny Companies Expense Deductions for Offshoring Jobs and Credit Expenses for Onshoring 

5) Eliminate a Loophole for Intellectual Property that Encourages Offshoring Jobs and Invest in Effective R&D Incentives. 

 6) Enact A Minimum Tax on Large Corporations’ Book Income

7) Eliminate Tax Preferences for Fossil Fuels and Make Sure Polluting Industries Pay for Environmental Clean Up

8)  Ramping Up Enforcement Against Corporations

....didn’t say anything about taxing the rich (>400K) but did state the following: 

“These are key steps toward a fairer tax code that encourages investment in the United States, stops shifting of jobs and profits abroad, and makes sure that corporations pay their fair share. The President looks forward to working with Congress, and will be putting forward additional ideas in the coming weeks for reforming our tax code so that it rewards work and not wealth, and makes sure the highest income individuals pay their fair share.”

I’m almost certain now that he’ll announce that the tax raises on the wealthy will pay for the 2nd part of the infrastructure plan, being called the “American Families Plan”,  the final part of the BUILD BACK BETTER initiative.

Schumer and Warren have been pushing HARD, honestly it was only a matter of time until he started to look into what he is capable of doing. I’m really hopeful and trying not to get too hyped up so that I don’t get disappointed ....honestly though even if he only does 10K I personally think that would be huge. I know he would get flac from the far left but I’ll take anything.

I don’t believe any details have come out other than that Cardona has been told to review Biden’s legal authority over canceling debt and to send a memo back to his desk, expected in the next couple of weeks I believe. Other than that, no news has been released. I assume they’re still gathering data.

Yeah I haven’t seen anything about it but wasn’t sure if I missed it somewhere. I owe $3k so I’ll be curious to see what happens with that if it gets signed
